Landano allows property owners to create legally-binding title deeds for their land via an easy-to-use, decentralized app (DApp). The title deeds and supporting documents are notarized on the Cardano blockchain. A non-fungible token (NFT) is generated for each registered land title.

Trustworthy title deed documents can be used for the upward financial mobility of marginalized people. These documents can be used in applications for a bank account, credit score reports, mortgages, or lines-of-credit.

Using a shared, auditable ledger like the Cardano blockchain improves transparency and prevents fraud. It also opens the door to DeFi opportunities. Landano is being developed using agile software development methods that are informed by on-the-ground requirements from a pilot project in Accra, Ghana. All these factors make Landano a true "RealFi" solution.
